Bios
Christian J. Spitz, President
Christian J. Spitz is currently the President of DRI Development Services, LLC, a wholly owned, independently operated subsidiary of Transwestern and a prominent commercial real estate development company headquartered in Washington, DC. Chris’s tenure with DRI Development Services, LLC has spanned over twenty years. Previously, he held the position of Executive Vice President and CFO of DRI.
Career Highlights
Chris has many years of hands-on experience in the acquisition, financing, leasing, and disposition of real estate assets and over 25 years of management experience, having held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Divisional President for Microdyne Corporation. Chris also served as Vice President of Finance for Buvermo Management, Inc., a Dutch owned firm investing in real estate projects throughout the United States.
Chris is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Dayton.
Carey C. Majeski, Senior Vice President
As Senior Vice President of DRI Development Services LLC, Carey is responsible for the planning, design, scheduling and construction of the company's developments from inception through occupancy and stabilization.
Career Highlights
Carey has been a member of the DRI team since 1981 and has been instrumental in maintaining DRI’s reputation for on- time, within-budget developments on over 2,000,000 square feet of residential, commercial, and institutional projects in the DC/Capitol region including The Executive Tower at 1399 New York Avenue, N.W., a $60 million trophy class office tower, Qwest Communication, Inc. headquarters, an $80 million Class A Office building in Ballston, VA and most recently, 1331 L Street, a 170,000-square-foot LEED Gold build-to-suit headquarters building for the Mortgage Banker’s Association.
James E. Dautenhahn, Senior Vice President As a Principal and Senior Vice President of DRI Development Services, LLC, Jim is responsible for the planning, design, scheduling and construction of the company's developments, from inception through occupancy and stabilization. In addition to over 25 years of development and construction management experience with DRI, Jim also has significant experience in portfolio asset management, which has involved the repositioning and disposition of operating properties.
Career Highlights Jim has managed the property management, development, and construction of over 40 buildings, including the United States Mint, a $70 million Class A Office building, 810 7th Street, a $66 million Class A Office building and winner of “Best Urban Office Building Over 175,000 Square Feet” and the upcoming Plaza on K, an 825,000 square foot mixed-use, trophy class multi-building project in the emerging Capitol Riverfront neighborhood of Southeast, D.C.
Jim began his career with six years in the U.S. Army serving in the Pentagon, the Office of the Secretary of Defense/International Security Affairs, and the Middle East Task Group. Jim was awarded the Army’s Meritorious Service Medal for his service in the Pentagon.
Subsequent to his time in the U.S. Army, Jim worked for the United States Railway Association, which represented the U.S. Government’s interest in the valuation of real estate holdings of bankrupt railroads. There, Jim managed the valuation of major property holdings in urban areas with redevelopment potential.
Jim attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri.
