6700 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD
National Institutes of Health
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary Federal agency for conducting and supporting medical research. DRI's scope of work for 6700 Rockledge Drive included the implementation of a strict LEED® indoor air quality renovation program for NIH's 170,000 square foot building. The three million dollar renovation was completed while the building was fully occupied resulting in 20 individual phases of construction. Each floor was individually permitted, and DRI engaged in extensive negotiations with Montgomery County to maintain occupancy of the space during all phases of the project. NIH was able to maintain effective and normal business practices during the entire project.
